The zombie-themed challenge outsold all other themes combined by over 5 to 1, drove users to take 37% more steps, retained players 11% better, and even had a slight edge in user satisfaction. In other words, even if companies and players didn’t self-identify as having a preference for zombies, they spoke with their wallets and their performance.
